![]() About BioMentor BioMentor International Inc. is a healthcare consulting company. We work with companies in the healthcare industry looking to expand their operations to markets outside of the United States. BioMentor International Inc. was founded in 2007 by Jim Means to fulfill his passion for guiding companies to successful international ventures. For over three decades, Means has expanded business for companies, in both emerging nations and developed countries, with responsibilities for opening offices in new markets, recruiting and training their talent, and growing them into viable, profitable operations. As Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer of BioMentor International, Means is focused on helping companies realize their full potential internationally and positioning them for economic success in the global economy.
Jim Means
Jim Means most recently served as a vice president and general manager of Boston Scientific, a Boston based medical devices company, where he pioneered and developed direct sales subsidiaries in 14 locations around the world including Latin America, Central Europe, and The Middle East, overseeing $54 million in sales responsibilities. He was promoted, in May of 2005, to vice president-international of Boston Scientific's newly acquired company, Advanced Bionics. From 1983-1996 Means was international vice president of Nova Biomedical Corporation, where he established the international sales organization and grew the initial contribution from $1.5 million to $40 million. Means, his wife Linda, and their two children come by their deep love and understanding of other cultures naturally, having lived overseas for 12 years in Venezuela, Brazil, and France. Means is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, and French. In his various positions, Means has traveled to over 65 countries in the past 40 years and has mastered the art of sleeping on airplanes. When not guiding businesses to international success, Means is passionate about skiing, tennis and ice hockey, as well as hiking, canoeing and kayaking. He has raced in the annual Run of the Charles canoe race in Boston every year since its inception 25 years ago. He is a connoisseur of fine food and wine and an avid supporter of the arts. Means is a sought after voice on the lecture circuit and is an active and committed member of Rotary International. Means is a graduate of De Pauw University (BA). |
